History Department prides itself in increasing historical literacy and writing. Students at Edison Middle School are exposed to different forms of accessing history. In partnership with the Stanford University Education Group (SHEG), we pride ourselves in integrating primary and secondary sources to help students develop their own meaning of history. SHEG exposes students to the skills of Close Reading, Contextualization, Sourcing and Corroboration. Using these skills, we stride to develop student academic writing by integrating various writing tools.
